Choose 'n Cut Directions

The Ellis Family Farm will be open during the 2007 season. It is located at 121 Brooks Shell Road, Elk Park, North Carolina.  On this page you'll find information to help you find us.

Opening as a first time Choose 'n Cut farm in 2005, this location is only 1.5 miles from the North Carolina-Tennessee state line on U.S. Highway 19-E.  There are over 30,000 trees available in heights up to 15 feet at this farm.  Harvestable trees on the Ellis Family Farm range in size from five to 15 feet with a large selection in the six to eight feet range.

Directions

From I-40 in Marion, North Carolina, follow U.S. 221 for 35 miles through Crossnore to NC 194 and turn left towards Newland.  (This will be the second intersection with NC 194; the first intersection, before Crossnore, would take you to Spruce Pine.)  Go ten miles on NC 194 to U.S. 19-E.  Go straight on U.S. 19-E to Elk Park.  After 3/4 mile, turn left onto Winters Street (just before the Elk Park Volunteer Fire Department on the left.)  Go to the end of Winters Street (two blocks) and bear slightly right onto Brooks Shell Road.  The driveway for Elk River Evergreens is only 100 feet after turning onto Brooks Shell Road.

Starting in Hickory, North Carolina, take I-40 West to Exit 100 in Morganton, NC.  Turn right and go three miles to the red light.  Turn left on NC 181 North and follow the signs to Newland.  In Newland, turn right at the red light (CVS Pharmacy) on NC 194 to Elk Park (approximately 6 miles).  Note: NC 194 turns right at Times Square Diner toward Banner Elk.  DO NOT TURN.  Stay on main highway (which becomes U.S. 19-E) for approximately one mile.  Turn left on Winters Street (at the Elk River Evergreens sign).  Go 2 blocks and bear right. Farm is easily visible.

From I-26 in Johnson City, Tennessee, follow U.S. 321 through Elizabethton for about 8.5 miles.  In Elizabethton, turn right onto U.S. 19-E towards Hampton and Roan Mountain.  Follow U.S. 19-E for about 24 miles to Elk Park, North Carolina.  Just after passing the Elk Park Volunteer Fire Department on the right, turn right onto Winters Street.  Go to the end of Winters Street (two blocks) and bear slightly right onto Brooks Shell Road.  The driveway for Elk River Evergreens is only 100 feet after turning onto Brooks Shell Road.
